Thanks to the sustained prevention efforts of our employees, Raglan Mine won the F. J. O’Connell Trophy for the year 2017 in the category Underground Operations – more than 400,000 hours worked! Awarded by the Québec Mining Association, this trophy salutes the exceptional improvement achieved in prevention in 2017 in comparison with the Quebec mining industry.
Raglan Mine won its very first F.J. O’Connell Trophy in 1998. While standards have evolved significantly since, we have succeeded in remaining a leader in occupational health and safety in the mining industry.
"Through the commitment of our employees to the reporting culture, their involvement and their professionalism, we have dared challenge the status quo over the years, striving constantly to improving our ways of doing things in order to make our work environment and practices safer," said Pierre Barrette, Vice President of Raglan Mine.
Congratulations to all the employees!
