Sivumut Project – The Raglan Mine Property Beyond 2020 (Phases II and III)
Raglan Mine's current operations (Phase I), which began in 1997, are expected to gradually cease as from 2020. In order to extend the life of the mine for an additional 20+ years, we launched the Sivumut Project.
We consider the Sivumut Project as an opportunity to maintain and increase partnerships with Nunavimmiut (which means « Inuits from Nunavik » in Inuktitut), and more specifically, with Salluit and Kangiqsujuaq. Securing Raglan Mine's future will also contribute to maintain economic benefits for Nunavik through existing jobs, contracts and profit-sharing.
The Sivumut Project will be developed in respect of the Raglan Agreement.
